Powervault ME4024 SMTP error.

I have tried to get SMTP setup to send alerts to office 365 outlook and have been unsuccessful. I looked at a previous forum post that recommended to upgrade to GT280R010-01 storage controller firmware that has TLS 1.2 support. When I do a test message send, it says message sent successfully, however I don't receive the message. It's not held my mimecast or spam. I don't know what else I can do to get alerting working.

Hello, The problem is that unfortunately ME4 still uses TLS 1.0 (I believe it will be fixed in a future FW ). However, I don't know the release time. Your Dell article says that upgrading the storage controller firmware to GT280R010-01 fixes the issue. I have already upgraded to that firmware. I am still unable to receive any message.

Hi @dahlgpt,

Can I check with you, when you set up SMTP in ME4024, are you also using office365 as SMTP server? Can you try test sending an email alert to other email domain, outside office365?

I have tried office365 STMP server with TLS selected, I have selected Mimecast Outbound SMTP server and gmail. All three gave 611 error. Something is not configured correct.

Well, that thread suggesting updating the firmware that supports TLS 1.2 and I did.

Hello, the 611 error is from MS https://dell.to/3GOjdQs

I don't think it has anything to do with your M4024. It might be some active directory issue on your end.

The 611 error is not in Windows Event viewer. It is in the Dell Management console of ME4024.
