PowerVault MD3620f Drive firmware version is too high?
Hi there !
We have a MD3620f intalled by DELL and currently out of warranty. In order to upgrade the controller firmware, we've found the package at DELL's Support Site, that's ok. Now we're ready to go ahead. But, I've checked de hard drive firmware and got surprised. All the Seagate ST1200MM0099 are at level ST33 although the latest upadate for the MD3620f was ST31. The version ST33 appears for PowerEdge servers update.
Is that a problem? Shoud I downgrade the drives?
Bellow the current drive versions installed for the models present at MD3620f.
SEAGATE ST1200MM0099 version ST33
SEAGATE ST900MM0006 version LS0A
Installed Controller Version: 08.20.09.60
Available Upgrade Controller Version: 08.20.24.60
Thanks!

Hello @MCCcoelho,
When updating firmwares of Physical Drives in a MD32620f, we use the latest package for Dell PowerVault MD Series Storage HDD/SSD Firmware. You can download it if you want.
This zip filed contains a readme file containing all the firmware versions for all compatible HDD and SSD. You can find here your disk and the current supported firmware version which is the ST33.
So you don't need to worry. This firmware version IS supported for the MD.
Regards.
