PowerVault MD3200i Not power on

Hi,

I have one MD3200i attached to two MD1200. two days back MD3200i stopped functioning. When I went and check  @ data center only Front panel power indicator on all other leds (including all 12 3T 3.5" HDDs, all  LEDs on controller, iscsi ports  etc) not glowing. Both power supply units are functioning even after restarting no change. Put another power supply from MD1200 even then no change.

When I restart md3200i front panel power indicator is on, all HDD leds blinks twice( together). Since both controllers are not getting on no way to see the logs through serial cable also. Is this issue with backplane\midplane ?

Is midplane same for both MD3200i and MD1200

Pls help

Hello Biju Narayanan,

Sorry to read you are experiencing problems with your PowerVault.

So please, can you confirm you don't have any access to MDSM? I would check to confirm that all the iSCSI cable are plugged in & confirm that there is a link light on the ports. At any time did you attempt to reseat both controllers? Have you tried only one controller and switch them to check if any of them works individually?

So you have already connected via serial cable to check for the boot of the controller?

Regards.

Hello, Diego López

  sorry for the late reply,

Both controllers are not getting up.

Some how we got one new single controller for md3200i and put on slot 0. Enclosure 3200i come up with single controller and enclosure 0 is accessible now thus took the backup (only enclosure 0 data) . But both other two MD1200 enclosures(all disks) flashes amber. shows "Enclosure Path Consistency Lost" in enclosure component information. All HDDs in Enclosure 1 and 2 Shows status as offline. Cause shown in the image which is attached here.

New  md3200i controller firmware version is "07.84.47.60" . Both MD1200 - EMM firmware version is "1.05". In the MDSM both Enclosures shows "missing"  but all Virtual Disk status shows "optimal". Pl s have a look on the images attached.

Hello @Biju Narayanan,

Thanks for your very detailed post. At this point I should recommend you to open a ticket with the support. If the MD is out of warranty you will need to ask for an Out of Warraty ticket. You need somebody to check the logs and investigate the root cause. At this point, it's difficult to determine what the problem could be without looking at the logs.

Regards.
