Power Vault MD3220i Clear Recovery Mode Question
Hello,
I inherited another companies' MD 3220i. It had failed drives which I swapped out and rebuilt.
The MDSM is saying that the controller is in Recovery Mode. I am concerned that if I clear the mode that the controller will revert back to factory defaults and I will lose all the data (this is close to 60TB so I don't want to do this)
So guidance would be appreciated.

Hello @Murraybrian,
If the storage array is in Recovery Mode without any intervention, then an internal fault caused an integrity error in the storage array configuration database.
Then, if the error message says "The storage array is in Recovery Mode". This normally is caused by a lockdown status.
What you can do is to use a serial cable and connect the serial cable to the Controller. Use putty to see output. Reboot it and capture the boot text. That will offer more information about the error.
You can also use the command lemClearLockdown via the serial cable connected to the affected controller and that should clear the error.
However, data integrity will depend on the disk status and data integrity. If you are unsure about the process, I suggest you to engage backline support. If the MD is out of warranty, you may also contact support https://dell.to/2QuvDGm and inquire about Post Standard Support.
Regards.
