Multipathing with VMware vsphere 6.7 and MD3220i with 4 NICs

Hi,

we have some old vSphere Hosts running in our data center.

At the moment I am in the process of migration to two new vSphere Hosts with 4 GBit NICs for iSCSI usage each. Additionally we have a MD3220i with 4 NIC ports for each storage controller.

I want to have the 4 x GBit Speed Multipathing for each host with the option to automatically go to the failsafe to the second controller.

Additionally I have bought two Gigabit switches for HA.

As far as I have understood I need

- two links from the host to the first switch and two links to the second switch

- each link on the host has two kernel ports on one vSwitch (with two IPs, one network from the 1st storage controller port the other from the 2nd)

- The Switches need two links to the first storage controller and two to the second storage controller

- the same applies to the other two ports of the host

Is that the preferred configuration for 4 x speed multipathing?

Hi,

That configuration looks fine to me.
