ML3 Tape drive calibration
I just setup a new ML3 tape library with three LTO9 FC HH drives. Everything seems to be OK except for one strange behavior. When I first setup the library in my backup app. it runs a validation where it mounts and unmounts a tape into each drive. When i did this the mount portion took 45 minutes for the first tape drive. During this time the status in the web gui for the tape drive is 'Calib' indicating the drive is running a calibration. After this is done it unmounts the drive without issue. It does not give an error during this time. the other two drives mounted and unmounted tapes quickly. I thought it might be a one time thing but im now running a backup and its gone into calib mode again and appears to be doing the same thing. is this drive broken? The firmware for the library and the drive is at the latest level.

Hi @adsfgvadvg,
The Calibration seems to be the requirement for LTO9. Also, media optimizations will complete within 60 minutes some media optimizations may take up to 2 hours. Can you check after the optimization (Calib) completes, what is the Media Optimized status in web GUI? Is it Unknown, N/A or Yes.

the tape is calibrating not the drive, its a one time thing with each tape
