ML3 LTO8 FC-HH vs FC-FH Tape Drive
Hello Folks,
I really have a question related to ML3 LTO8 FC-HH vs FC-FH Tape Drive. Since the ML3 supports 3 HH Tape and 2 FH.
I want to know the difference in specs between the HH and FH and when I can position each one ?

Hello Eslam EL Manakhly,
Dell EMC ML3 Tape Library Field Service Manual Page 18 : https://dell.to/3vB9BCG
*Half-height (HH) tape drives can be installed in any drive bay in a module.
*Full-height (FH) tape drives must be installed in the lowest two bays of a module. Installing a full-height drive in the top two bays of a module is not supported.
This is to follow up on what tapelibraryfixer mentioned:
Max Native Backup Rate per Drive
*LTO-8 (half-height): 300MB/s, 1080GB/hr
*LTO-8 (full-height): 360MB/s, 1296GB/hr
