ME424 expansion enclosure
Hi all,
My existing enclosure contain 17 disks. I planned to buy another 1 enclosure with 24 disks.
Do i need to make my existing enclosure to be fully populated 24-disks first or i can simply install the new enclosure?

Hi,
No, it is not necessary to fully populate an ME424 expansion enclosure before adding another ME424 to your system. You can add additional ME424 enclosures as needed. I tried to check on the support matrix, it didn't mentioned about fully populate 1 ME424 before expanding with another, ref: https://dell.to/4figui1
If you are purchasing another ME424 from Dell sales, I would also recommend make sure from them about this.
