ME4024 Restart storage controller
Controller (B) in EMC ME4024 is down for some reason. There is a recommendation on the management page to restart storage controller.
--------------------------------------
Reason:
The controller is not operational.
Recomendation:
- Restart the Storage Controller in this controller module, unless it is performing an operation where it is normal for i to be shut down, shuch as firmware update.
--------------------------------------
Is it safe to try restart the storage controller (B) while controller (A) is running and virtual machines are on?

Hello,
yes you can restart the controller, anyway for a deep analysis i suggest you to contact technical support and send them logs.
Thanks

Hello,
Do you have anything in the Event Log about the error?
Was anything being done on the system when this issue started?
Have you tried:
- Restart the Storage Controller B controller module
Or
-Re-seat of Controller B
Before doing either of those: First Ensure Controller A is fully operational and handling I/O without issues.
Confirm that your system is configured with path redundancy so that restarting Controller B won’t interrupt services.

Are you sure that the controller module is down or that just the monitoring serivice is down? You can try to restart the monitoring service on B trough the CLI of controller A.
