ME4024 Performance concerns

Hello, we have created a new environment and experiencing some sluggishness from our Remote Desktop Servers. I am wondering if there is some sort of configuration or hardware issue going on with our ME4024? When I show the interfaces on the switch command line, I am seeing throttles on the output, which the network team is telling me the ME4024 cannot keep up...however I am not sure if that is accurate or not.

Environment:

(5) Dell r730 servers (using dual 10Gb cards, each card connected to different switch)

(2) Dell S4049-ON switches

All DAC cabling for severs & SAN

-------

ME4024 - 24 3.84 SSDs

ME424 expansion - 24 2TB 7.2K SAS drives

2 Pools @ 46.6TB. 2 Disk Groups Each (A for SSDs, B for spinning disk.). ADAPT for everything

2 Volumes

In performance area, seeing IOPS around 1200, B/s @ ~50 MB

------

VMware 7.0.2 Enterprise Plus

2 Datastores (Vol1, Vol 2)

Round Robin

----------

Shouldn't we expect to see more than 1200 IOPS & 50 MB with 10Gb connectors and all the SSDs we have?

Hello,

The best recommendation I could make is to make sure your configuration conforms to the practices described in the deployment guide linked below. I've also included the ME4 and vSphere guide, since you have a VMware environment. Performance issues aren't something we can really get into much detail with, but these 3 documents should help make sure that the storage is configured optimally.

Hello,

We have the same problem with 12xSSD SAS RAID10  + 12xHDD SAS DELL RAID. The performance very is poor.

RAID10 SSD performacje is lower than single SSD performance.

Did You find a solution ?

The Matrix was configured by Dell partner.
