How do I connect my MD1200 to our PowerEdge r530 server?
Hi,
I just purchased an MD1200 Storage Expansion for our PowerEdge R530 which has an integrated Perc H730 raid. What do I need in order to get the MD1200 connected to it? It came with external SAS cables, but there is not a place to connect them. The MD1200 purchase also came with a Perc H800 card, but it's not low profile so I cant insert it into our R530.

Well... on paper you need a H810 for a MD1200. This HBA is always available as FullHeight or LowProfile, but unfortunately its not support in a R530.

But we run an unsupportet config as well. A R740 with a H840 and connected are 3x MD1200.
So you can try a H830 in LowProfile which fits into your R530 and than you need also SAS HD <-> HD MINI Cable to connect a 6Gbit JBOD to a 12Gbit HBA.
