expand a volume ME4012

Hi everyone:

I would like help with the following:

How can I modify or expand a volume on the ME4012? Is there a problem with the information or with the VMs that are in the volume to be modified?
It should be said that the volume is of the virtual type.

Hello jorge_mat

The volume can be expanded live.  You will have to do a rescan on the vmware servers to see the new volume size before you can expand the datastore in vmware.

Hi @jorge_mat,

Yes. That will be the amount of size the volume to be expended to.

Hi @jorge_mat,

This user guide page might help you: https://dell.to/3Y7W5CP. It is advisable to do data backup when you're doing any configuration changes to the volume.

in this case, the volume is being used as an esxi datastore and is managed by a vcenter, does the same criteria apply?

little doubt... in the guide it says:

Optional: In the Expand By field, type the size by which to expand the volume. If overcommitting the physical capacity of the system is not allowed, the value cannot exceed the amount of free space in the storage pool.

the size refers to the amount that will be increased... for example if I put 2048 GB (2 TB), will the volume increase by that amount?
