Dell Powervault MD1200 < - > Dell poweredge r610
Hy!
I have a server Dell PowerEdge R610 with Perc H700 Controller (6 disks - RAID 5).
I would like to buy a dell powervault MD1200. How can I connect a DAS with my server?
Can I link a DAS Unit to H700 Controller with SAS to MINI SAS cable? Is it possible?

Hello beetlejuice81,
For the MD1200 the card that we would use in our R610 server is H800. Here is a link to the support matrix for the MD1200 that list the H800 as the supported card. ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powervault/powervault-md1200_Reference%20Guide_en-us.pdf
Now I have known of some customers to use an H700 with there MD1200 and they get it to work as well but if you were to do so you will need to have the MD on it’s own H700 controller so that it doesn’t affect your raid array on your current H700.
