Dell PowerVault DL4000 for HomeLab?
Looking for some advice on if I can utilize a Dell PowerVault DL4000 in my home lab setup. I would like to throw TrueNAS or something similar to make the unit act as a NAS / Plex server. Is this doable on this unit? If not can I just throw ESXi or ProMox etc on it & have direct access to all the drives & run a TrueNAS or similar VM?
I do have a Dell R430 1U currently acting as my ESXi server in the event I need to connect the two? The unit I am looking at is 2x 6 Cores w/ 8TB of storage at a decent price so I am really hoping to be able to turn it into a NAS Server if possible and have access to all the drives directly from whatever software I use. I am not against something Windows-based etc.
Any advice will be appreciated!

Hello,
thanks for asking here in the forum.
As Dell representative I cannot confirm if this hardware will work with another not supported software, anyway let's see if other customer has some advices about that.
Thanks
Marco
