Dell MD3400 Backplane speed
Hi all,
Our SAS SAN has 12GB controllers, but there are 6GB SAS drives installed. If we purchase new drives which are 12GB does the SAN support 12GB disks -- meaning will they run at full 12GB or 6GB?

Hi @I-AM-PAT,
The storage will run at 6Gbps even if you installed SAS12 drives. The storage is a 6Gbps SAS-based storage system. The controller only offers 12 Gbps SAS connectivity to the host server.
