Dell EMC ME5024

Hello

I need help with connectivity issues, can the ME5 work with any FC sfp that has less than 16 Gb speed??

I have a lenovo FC5022 16Gb switch and Brocade 8Gb SFPs and the default SFPs that came with the Storage but i do not seem to have any connectivity??

If i need to configure for iSCSI alternatively can I use the 10GBase T iSCSI sfp, if so if i am connecting via a switch does the switch have to be 10Gb thus can it work if I connect thru a 1Gb switch???

Paurosi73,

You would need to stick to using the supported SFPs from the Support Matrix here, and it should negotiate back to 8g, but if it is an FC array, then it cannot do iSCSI. Some options to consider would be;
Contact support for a support case.
Make sure the switch can see the storage to narrow down if it's the host.
Confirm you're setting up zoning.
When connected to switch make sure the storage says the connections are up.
Try direct connecting to rule out the switch/zoning, if direct connect check LEDs and indicators.
Also, make sure you're following Deployment Guide and BP docs for the specific OS.
Lastly, FC and iSCSI are different controllers, and with me not knowing the svc tag, I am not sure what system you bought. In the off chance you got an iSCSI and trying to use FC and vice versa

Let me know if this helps and what you see.
