Connect Existing MD3200i to New Hyper-V Servers via iSCSI

Hi Guys,

Slowly upgrading an older On-Prem vSphere environment. At present we have 2x Dell R710's connected to an MD3200i via two older Dell 1Gbe switches using iSCSI connections and running ESXi/vSphere.

I am replacing the two R710's with two new servers running Windows Server 2025 DataCentre and will set this up as the new Hyper-V Environment instead of sticking with the new 'awesome' pricing Broadcom has introduced for vSphere ;)

With that out of the way - Is there a good guide somewhere, I know these are older systems, to show how to connect a modern Hyper V server to the MD3200i via iSCSI to see all the current existing LUNs on it, and be able to create/use new LUNs for new servers that will run on the new Hyper V Servers??

I have installed iSCSI and MPIO roles/features on the 2025 Windows Servers, as well as Hyper V etc just need to know how to connect to the MD3200i via iSCSI :)

Setup is:

Hyper V Server 01 - 1Gbe Nic #1 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #1, Nic #2 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #2, 1Gbe Nic #3 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #1, Nic #4 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #2 - all unconfigured

10Gbe NiC - connects to 10Gbe Aggregation switch with a management IP address that connects it to the Main Network, internet etc
Hyper V Server 02 - 1Gbe Nic #1 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #1, Nic #2 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #2, 1Gbe Nic #3 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #1, Nic #4 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #2 - all unconfigured
10Gbe NiC - connects to 10Gbe Aggregation switch with a management IP address that connects it to the Main Network, internet etc

ESXI Server 01 - 1Gbe Nic #1 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #1, Nic #2 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #2, 1Gbe Nic #3 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #1, Nic #4 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #2 - all configured in vSphere/virtual switching

Some Other 1Gb Nics to connect to Main Network
ESXI Server 02 - 1Gbe Nic #1 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #1, Nic #2 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #2, 1Gbe Nic #3 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #1, Nic #4 to 24 Port 1Gbe Switch #2 - all configured in vSphere/virtual switching
Some Other 1Gb Nics to connect to Main Network

Switch 01 and 02 have iSCSI enabled, jumbo frames etc and all running sweet for years. In vSphere iSCSI targets pointing at the MD3200i are already setup and running fine.

Long Term - I will run up new servers on Windows/Hyper V to replace the ones currently running in vSphere rather than trying to migrate them (I only have 12 VM's running). I will also eventually replace the MD3200i with a more modern SAN later this year (10/25Gbe connections etc new servers already have 10Gbe NICs plus I added some  legacy 1Gb connections to connect to SW#1 and SW#2 the MD3200i controllers connect to)

Any hints/tips/advice is greatly appreciated ;)
