Best option for an entry level storage unit for smaller environments
I have an interesting situation going on here. Two, actually. I am looking for recommendations hopefully in the PowerVault family for entry-level storage. I am looking for options that can easily attach to a PowerEdge R620 (the MD arrays are out according to my hardware tech; we are trying to avoid multi-amp devices), so what's left? And then I am also looking for a bit more storage for my home network environment, as well, which includes a couple of servers, but only a standard 120 volt 20 amp circuit. Recommendations would be great. Thanks!

Hello Cambridgeport90,
For an entry level storage based on the information that you provided there isn’t much other than an MD or ME. With the server that you are using your options are limited. As you can use a MD1200 to connect to your server and that will give you added storage space. However, you can’t use a MD1400 as that needs a 12gb SAS card. Your PE R620 server will not support a 12GB sas card. Only our 13th gen & 14th Gen servers (PE R630 or PE R640) support 12gb sas cards.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
