Hello,

i have ask the Dell support about that same some time ago and they respond thats this is just how the systems is preconfigured. There was no clear answer if importing LUNs on the specific Ports 2+3 impossible or needs just to be enabled when needed.

With up to 20 units in the field we never needs the feature to import data from a foreign system into the PowerStore because all customers uses VMs in the past.

Regards,

Joerg

An import can be used if you need to migrate Data from "another" storage to the Powerstore.

Take a look to https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/storage/industry-market/h18154-dell-powerstore-migration-technologies.pdf  or a newer document.  Again... we havent usecase it in the last 4 years.  We migrate VMs on Hypervisorlevel.  But for sure customer exists with use File level on their SANs.
