PowerStore NAS/ISCSI Port

Hi, Everyone

- In the PowerStore 1000T, the 0.1-inch 4-port card is configured as LACP/LAG.

question here
1. Should port 0.1 be used only for NAS? Or can it be used with iSCSI?

2. Is there only ports 2 and 3 for iSCSI?

3. Can I set up NAS and iSCSI on ports 0 and 1 at the same time?

I Need help.

  1. Can be used for both. Use tagged VLAN for separation if you to it.
  2. No..can serve different type of storage networks
  3. Yes you can (Same question like 1?)

BUT... the above was true with PowerOS 1.x.  With 2.x and up they suggest to use multiple IP subnets for iSCSI instead a singe subnet. This reflect an vSphere ESXi setup because within ESXi you have to use the Non-Binding setup than.

I have a 1000T setup which use NAS+ISCSI(Single Subnet) on Mezz(Port0+1) for a vSphere Cluster and it runs well since 1.5 years.

All my later setup use multiple IP setups and i use separate Ports and not the NAS ones any more. Keep in mind that not all PowerStore modells have a usable Mezz Port 2+3 and yes they changed the preferred way how to use iSCSI but for me it looks like that the documentation doesnt reflect this changes in all documents. Even the blue print for the 1500 VDI setup looks weird. But as always.. it depends on your needs

Regards,
Joerg

hello! Thanks for your reply.

Does that mean that only NAS doesn't have to use port 0.1?

Sometimes it can be used as a NAS and can be used in iSCSI mode?
