Welcome to the latest edition of the PowerStore Bulletin! Here are the key points from the February 2025 issue:

Recommended Code Release

  • Dell advises using recommended code versions for optimal performance and security.
  • Latest versions include beneficial features, enhancements, and fixes.

New Features in PowerStoreOS 4.1.0.0

  • Data Protection: Secure snapshot capability for file workloads to prevent accidental or malicious deletion.
  • Hardware: Automatic non-disruptive drive firmware upgrades.
  • PowerStore REST API: Query LLDP information.
  • Security: Support for HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), certificate-based user authentication, and automatic renewal notifications for certificates.
  • Install or Upgrade: IPv6 support in the Initial Configuration Wizard.
  • PowerStore Manager: New Configuration and Performance tabs under Hardware > Ports.

Storage Enhancements

  • Block Storage: Metrics collection for XCOPY, UNMAP, and ZERO commands; increased volume group support.
  • File Storage: QoS policies for NAS servers and file systems; Family-level Data Reduction Ratio metrics.

Import and Migration

  • Support for migrating dual-protocol NAS servers and Cloud Tiering Appliance stubs from Unity systems.

Notifications and Alerts

  • Extended maintenance window for appliance shutdowns.

Upgrade Readiness

  • Pre-upgrade health checks and tools to ensure system health before non-disruptive upgrades.

  • Enhanced monitoring and predictive analytics for PowerStore.
