How to provide a Single SmartConnect SSIP?
This week while teaching a Power Scale class there was a quick question from one of my trainees regarding the SmartConnect Multi-SSIP.
SmartConnect Basic allows two SSIPs per subnet and SmartConnect Advanced allows six SSIPs in a range.
SmartConnect license Basic Advanced
SSIPs per subnet 2 6
His question was I am working in Power Scale 9.x version I don't want to enter 2 or 6 SSIPs, I wanted to know "How to provide only one SSIP per subnet?"
Ans: Use isi network subnet modify command or use WebUI -Cluster Management-Network Configuration- and Edit the Subnet for which you want to provide the SmartConnect Service IP.
Under the option Add IP range provide the same ip address in the both the field e.g. START 192.168.3.100 --- END 192.168.3.100 as the range.
