What's the process of going from a temporary Powerpath license key to a new active license?

What's the process and is there any down time involved?

I would contact your EMC team, they can help your procure permanent licenses.

Sorry, should have elaborated more.  We do have the licenses.  Now, we just need to change them from the temp keys to the permanent keys.  Just wondering the "official" process is to convert them.  Or is it as simple as just adding the license keys and registering them?  Thanks!

Sorry ..i think I mis-read. Enter new key, remove old key and set correct PowerPath policy based on what storage is being managed. Should be able to do everything online.

What O/S are you using? For UNIX Servers, use the emcpreg –install command. For Windows Servers, use Start > Programs > EMC > PowerPath Licensing Tool.

You can make this change online, but you will need to reboot for the license to take effect. See Primus article emc135527 for more details.
