Unable to rename the emcpower devices
I have assigned the Fresh New storage from Cx3-40 .. And these power devices are getting used in veritas .. Now on both server emcpower device names are different in /etc/powermt display and in vxdisk list also ..
So as usual i use emcpadm export_mapping from one server and done import_mapping on another server ...
But i got strage error messages . I tried vice versa also but No Luck
then i tried renaming them manually but still its giving me error..
i have opened Serv 2 level case with EMC ..
I got RHEL 4 u4 with Powerpath 5.1 and VRTS 5.1 and both nodes in cluster.
[root@server1 ~]$ emcpadm import_mappings -v -f /root/newof01

OS: Solaris 10
EMC SW: PowerPath 5.0
Application SW: VERITAS Volume Manager (VxVM) 5.0 MP1
Symptom: emcpadm renamepseudo -s XX -t XX fails with error
Symptom: vxdmpadm settune dmp_cache_open=off (per emc166911)
Symptom: vxdisk list shows emcpowerxxx online udid_mismatch
Fix: Remove these PowerPath devices from VxVM, and reissue the emcpadm command.

I saw these primus at time of issue .. But it was for Sol 10 so didnt went ahead doing same for Linux RHEL 4 ( U 4 ) .. Also at time of rename or import/export the naviagent was stopped also NO FS was created devices was in "error' mode in VRTS ..
As i was near to deadline i went ahead and Uninstalled the PP and reinstalled it .
But again same error .. But i remeber emc recommend to install PP first then VRTS .. So i removed both PP and VRTS and then installed only PP and tried import/export .. It worked .. It was new environment thats why i done it like this but cannt afford to do same with my Prod servers ..
