PowerPath Virtual Appliance vCenter Permission
Hi just deployed the PowerPath Virtual Appliance 1.2 and added the vCenter, all ok, but it is not seeing any hosts.
The account I used only has RO access to vCenter.
If I try my own admin account it comes with the correct host info.
I don't fancy this small tool having admin access to vCenter, but I can't find the exact level of rights it needs to report correctly. Does anyone know what rights it needs?
Thanks
Nigel

Hi,
I have authenticated through vcentre, and I do see the ESXI hosts, but they are not power path enabled.
Do i Need another set of trial license for each ESXI host? I downloaded the free trial versiuon of power path?
Thanks
Sujata

Hi Nigel,
I raised a ticket for this same issue and was directed to the following link:
PowerPath/VE Virtual Applicance 2.0 Connection to vCenter 5.5
You need to follow either one of the below steps...
1) Grant Administrator privilege to the requested user, or
2) Add new role with below privileges to the requested user
Sessions
-> Validate session
-> View and stop sessions
Host
-> CIM
-> CIM interaction
-> Configuration
-> Change settings
Hope this helps, Liam.

Hi Nigel ,
There is also an EMC KB created to deal with this issue:
https://support.emc.com/kb/000205128
It details exactly what Liam previously mentions.
