Powerpath not seeing HBA's properly

I have a server where PP only sees one of two HBA's. The OS (Windows 2003 64 bit) sees it. Emulex management software, switch, and array all see both HBA's. The only odd part outside of PP is the Connectivity Status on the array shows 3 of 4 icons as blue instead of black. I have tried moving the HBA's to different slots on the server. Tryed new HBA's. Updated all drivers and firmware to most current. PP will only recognize the one HBA.

Any ideas on why PP is not seeing the second HBA?

What does the color of the icons mean in Access Logix\Connectivity status?

Hi Wes,

The first thing I would try is to check the Connectivity Status of the host itself (expand Storage Groups, Hosts, then right click on the host and choose Connectivity Status). This will give you a slightly different view and will show you if the Storage Group is recognizing both HBA as properly registered with it. If any of the initiators show up under a different Storage Group in this display (commonly you will see this under ~management) you need to use the Reconnect button at the bottom of the dialog. This will correct you configuration.

At this point you may still need to reboot the host to pick up the additional paths. This is all based on the theory that PP cannot see the HBA because it isn't properly authorized to see any storage. I've noticed this behaviour before where you can only see HBAs that have storage assigned to them.

Check this first, then let us know what you see.

Just wonder how does a HBA goes to the ~management option. I did it couple of times but dont know what ~management means or how does a HBA goes there....
One thing i notice that if the HBA logs out of switch it goes to ~management .. any specific reason ??
