How to enable emcp controller under Veritas
Hi,
I want PowerPath software to control multipathing, not Veritas. How to set the CTRL-NAME as emcp and remove the c1 and c2 and how to remove those c#t#d# devices from the view of veritas.
Below are some command outputs to explain the scenario:
From 'vxdisk list' I am getting:
DEVICE TYPE DISK GROUP STATUS
EMC_CLARiiON0_0 auto:cdsdisk - - online
# vxdisk list EMC_CLARiiON0_0

Use the following procedure to make vxdisk list display devices consistently:
1. Change all devices to native TPD mode.
# vxdmpadm setattr enclosure tpdmode=native
2. Verify all devices are now in native TPD mode.
# vxdisk list
3. Change all devices to pseudo TPD mode.
# vxdmpadm setattr enclosure tpdmode=pseudo
4. Verify all devices are now in pseudo TPD mode.
# vxdisk list
instead of showing up as c2t17d158s2 auto:sliced it should now show up as emcpower49s2 auto:cdsdisk
In addition I would do the following also:
1)powermt check (Choose "A" for all. Clear the dead paths.)
2)devfsadm -C (Scan the SCSI bus.)
3)powercf -q (Rebuild the logical link layer.)
4)powermt config (Bring the device paths into PowerPath control.)
5)powermt restore (Trespass LUNs to their default owners.)
6) powermt save (Save the current configuration.)
Ideally you want to have PP installed prior to Veritas.
Hope this helps.
