How often does powerpath check/test the dead paths?

Hi All,

Environment: AIX 7.2 server, Powerpath 6.2; with LUNs from VPLEX.

Note: The LUNs have 8 paths, 4 paths via 1 VPLEX Serial, and 4 via another. The 2 VPLEX VS6 are in different site and in metro configuration.

There was a WAN communication glitch between the 2 VPLEX VS6.  I am told this should not have caused any issues (if anything there would have been path related issues for 30 seconds).

However from the AIX server we all 4 paths via 1 VPLEX serial were marked dead; and the same paths were marked alive again after 5 minutes.  Why is this delay?  Hence the question.  How often does powerpath check/test the dead paths.  Is this configurable or hard coded?
