SnapVX question
Does SnapVX pause I/O to ensure there are no writes to the source device ( production volume) while the snapshot is created? If it does it pauses the IO to the production volume, it causes an outage for a OLTP-like application environment ?

Thanks, for the reply. This question is based on the below URL, page 13.
Dell Solutions Enabler 10.0.0 TimeFinder SnapVX CLI User Guide
"By default, all SnapVX snapshots are consistent with the database when created and established. Depending on the state of the devices at the time of the snapshot, SnapVX pauses I/O to ensure there are no writes to the source device while the snapshot is created. When the activation completes, writes are resumed and the target device contains a consistent production database copy of the source device at the time of activation"
The customer is asking, does Taking a snapshot impact the IO on the server which causes IO disruption to the end users?
I know that for a consistent snapshot IO needs to be quiesced, but the question is when the IO is quiesced, does it impact the end user?

Most likely it will cause a disruption if the writes are constant and pausing them causes the application writing to not work.
