Scaleio volumes used as RDM in VMware
Hello, is it supported to use Scaleio volumes as Raw Device Mappings in VMware, eigher in virtual or physical compatibility mode? I mean to use the Scaleio-presented volumes, not the underlying physical devices mapped to ScaleioVMs... Our broader concern is Microsoft Clustering inside multiple VMs across servers, which obviously is a more complex question, but to start we are interested in the RDM support itself. Thank you.

Yes, using ScaleIO volume as an RDM device is supported.

Thank you very much. So, my next question will be about the clustering support :-) Do you support Microsoft Cluster running in VMware accross servers using Scaleio volume in physical mode RDM? I know you do support MS Cluster itself on physical nodes and as long as you support VMware RDM as well it should work fine.
I have read your white paper on SQL server reference architecture (http://www.emc.com/collateral/white-papers/h13751-emc-converged-infrastructure-ms-applications.pdf), but in this case two separate SQL servers with AllwaysOn feature are used, so they don't need to share their volumes.

Please note, MS Cluster is supported from 2012.
MS cluster 2008R2 is not supported.
