ScaleIO License

Hi,

The " ScaleIO User Guide v1.32" describes as below regarding the ScaleIO licensing:

--

The license is installed on the MDM cluster, using the set_licensecommand.

ScaleIO installations are enabled to be fully functional, at the enterprise level, for the first thirty days after installation.

After this time elapses, the system will continue to operate, however no configuration changes will be allowed until a permanent license is installed.

--

Does this mean that the ScaleIO will not accept "ALL" the configuration changes performed after the first 30 days elapsed?

Or, does this mean that only the configuration changes performed at the basic level are accepted after the 30 days elapsed?

When the ScaleIO is reinstalled after the first installation, can we use the full functions at the enterprise level for the 30 days again?

Regards

This section in the documentation was correct for versions prior to 1.32 (but should have been removed from the 1.32 documentation - we will fix it for our next release).

Before 1.32 there was a 30 days trial license, but in 1.32 you have a free NON-PRODUCTION enterprise license already included when you install SIO system. You can perform any configuration changes and any functionality you want on the system for as long as you want, just keep in mind that it is NON-PRODUCTION.

Before going into production you must buy a license (per capacity) from EMC.
