Dell AR Assistant App

The Dell AR Assistant app which creates an augmented reality experience with step-by-step instructions on to replace common parts on select Dell computers has been updated this week to include a selection of PowerEdge server systems.

All that is needed is an Android or iOS smartphone. The app does not require a login and does not store or transmit any customer information. over the next few months, a multitude of other PowerEdge systems will be added but at present the below systems are the one’s currently available.

• PE XR11 – AR & Clone
• PE R740 & R740XD – AR & Clone
• PE R730 & R730XD – AR only

AR (augmented reality) can be used when you have one of the physical systems above. If you don’t have a system physically onsite you can use the clone feature which will simulator a physical system within the app to show how to internally remove and replace physical components.

The app is a great way of learning how to work inside a dell system, whether that’s troubleshooting a failed part or installing a new component into a dell server.
