Server 2012R2 to 2008R2 Downgrade?
I am trying to determine if I will be able to downgrade my Dell from Server 2012 R2 Standard to Server 2008 R2 Standard (do not ask why, this is a legacy system that will not run on Server 2012 or newer operating systems).
According to the original part list, the server (Dell PowerEdge R220) was supplied with the following items:
- 618-BBDS : Windows Server 2012R2 Standard Edition,Factory Installed, No Media, 2 Socket, 2 VMs,NO CAL s
- 634-BBOZ : Windows Server 2012R2 Standard , Media, FI Standard Ed Downgr ade image, Eng
I will not be able to get my hands on the actual hardware (incl. box contents) for the new few days.
Can someone advise if that Media is a Server 2012 R2 media, or is it actually a downgrade media and in effect 2008 R2 version?

Hi,
It is an image of 2008 R2 to install the older OS. Did you order this from us or a third party? I am not sure if any of these older systems have media anymore.
