Hello,
The R720 was validated for use with a couple of NVMe drives, but no other NVMe devices. Part numbers 0J3JJ, 0PHJ5, 4WNJN, and NYF0Y are what I see. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to give you a definitive answer for unvalidated hardware.
