R310 PERC S300 Unable to Install Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard
Main issue: When I went to install Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard there were no drives found. I'm able to enter the key and choose what type of installation but can not go any further.
No OS installed
BIOS Mode not UEFI
ATA not RAID
RAID 1 250GB (2x 250GB)
RAID 0 1TB (2x 500GB)
I have updated firmware's using Dell Repository Manager. I was unsuccessful using Windows 32 and 64 bit using UNetBootin. I tried using NTFS and FAT32 format but still unsuccessful. I finally updated using Linux but still unable to see drives. I have tried using the ftp in LifeCycle Controller and it successfully goes through but then it gets to the part of installing Windows Server 2012 R2 and samething, not able to see drives.
Before I updated, with Linux from the Dell Repository Manager, I was seeing the message right before you install windows no BIOS installed and no virtual drives found. With the update, I now see BIOS installed and my 2 RAID configurations saying ready.
I'm probably missing more information and details but I have been at this for 2 days now, going on 3, and I'm looking for some help and a real solution.
If any questions please ask. Thanks an advance.

Found the resolution so I wanted to share it.
Resolution: Install Windows Server 2008 R2 Driver for PERC S300 Driver
Spent so long searching for the driver when it wasn't listed for Windows Server 2012 R2 but it was listed under the Windows Server 2008 R2 on support.dell.com. To whoever else is having this issue if your unable to install windows because you are not able to see your drives and need the driver to see the drives for PERC S300 please download it from Windows Server 2008 R2 at support.dell.com, if your trying to install Windows Server 2012 R2.
Dell, please update or inform others of this resolution. Thanks

Update:
I come in this morning and now I am seeing,
SATA Port A Device Not Found
SATA Port B Device Not Found
SATA Port C Device Not Found
SATA Port D Device Not Found
I go into F2 and under SATA settings all say,
Port A - Auto
Model - Unknown
Drive Type - Unknown Device
Capacity - n/a
And the same information as for Port B, C, and D.
I go into CTRL+R and RAID is still setup. So I deleted both RAID 0 and 1 then rebooted. After the dell logo it said the samething SATA Port not found. Then went back into CTRL+R and recreated RAID 0 and 1 then rebooted and it's the same. Researching now in why its doing this.

The S300 is NOT supported by Dell on Server 2012 R2, as it was deemed incompatible ... THAT is why there are no drivers listed for it under 2012 R2. It was intentional. 1) The S300 is a horrible RAID controller and you should consider not using it, and 2) even though it seems to work, you may run into issues with it at somepoint.
