McNeil_IT,
The easiest way to install 2008r2 on the server would be using the Lifecycle Controller. If you boot the server and hit F10 at start up, you will access the Lifecycle Controller. From there select platform update and run this OS Driver pack. This installs the drivers need for the Nics, Raid Controller, etc. Then go back to main menu and select OS Deploy and then select to Deploy OS. When you you get to where the OS asks where to install, you should see the Virtual Disk you created in the Raid controller prior to OS install. Select that virtual disk and the OS should install.
Let me know if this helps.

Short of the Raid level, you can do that. With the Dell raid controllers, the issue you will run into is that Raid level 2 isn't supported. With most of our controllers, raid 0,1,5,6,10,50,60 are supported.

I'm assuming "RAID 2" was a typo and that RAID 1 was intended. RAID 1 is superior to RAID 2 in every way, making RAID 2 obsolete in theory alone, let alone in practice, which is why no respectable RAID controllers support it.

okay i will immediately inform you as soon as i finished installing our OS. by the way i have 2 sas drive each has 2tb it is possible that i can make RAID-2 then eventually partition it in C: for OS while D: is for DATA only?
Thank you very much chris! this would be a great help.
