Installng Server2008r2 on a T330

I have a new T330 with RAID 1+10. PERC H330 Integrated Controller.  2 each 500gb on RAID 1  and 4 each 500gb on RAID 10.

I am trying to install Server 2008r2.  The issue with no keyboard or mouse has been solved by installing a Star-Tech  PCIe USB 2.0 card.  So let me get that out of the way.  Also this is the O/S that needs to be installed,  2012 is out of the question for this.

In Lifecycle Controller I am choosing the correct O/S - that being Server 2008R2.  Going forward from there it loads all the way as it should until it gets to where you choose the drive to intall on and there are no drives showing.  I can do a Browse and still nothing.

As test I can use a 2012 R2 Essentials ISO disc (proper O/S chosen in Lifecycle Controller) and it shows the hard drives and it should, in addition I can do the same with a Windows 8.1PRO disc and it will show the hard drives.

What am  I overlooking, missing or doing incorrectly?

Hello

The issue with no keyboard or mouse has been solved by installing a Star-Tech  PCIe USB 2.0 card.

Most deployment environments do not support USB 3. Most of our 13G servers that have USB 3 have an option to disable USB 3. Some do not have that option and require that you slipstream USB 3 drivers. I'm glad you found an alternative solution that works for you.

In Lifecycle Controller I am choosing the correct O/S - that being Server 2008R2

The issue sounds like the SAS driver for the H330 is not loading properly. I would suggest that you either update the OS driver pack for the lifecycle controller or manually install the driver during the OS installation:

If you download the hard drive version and extract out the files you should be able to direct the OS to that driver during setup.

Thanks

Thanks for the information.  I was able to put the H330 drivers on a flash drive and browse to that,  the drives then showed and the install completed.

But,  the Broadcom NIC drivers also had to be re-installed once the software was installed.
