Dell PowerEdge T410 RAID server in Server 2016/2019

I'm attempting to install a Windows Server 2016/2019 vm via ESXi. It looks like I have the RAID controller Dell PERC H700 Adapter.

I was hoping someone might be able to point me to an updated source I could download the driver from.

Sorry I miss-explained. I'm trying to setup a vm using Server 2016/2019 but it's coming back with additionally needed drivers which I think is the RAID adapter (Dell PERC H700 Adapter). I wasn't able to find a version that was compatible and was hoping someone could identify.

You are looking for an ESXi driver? Shouldn't need one for the VM ...

Hi,

We haven’t validated server 2016 or 2019 on the T410. https://dell.to/3s6R8Lv They should have a driver that works build in.

Yes, ok ... Server 2016 and 2019 have the drivers built into the OS driver store, so you shouldn't need to load them separately (and consequently, they do not exist on Dell's Support site). A couple of things though:

  • The H700 does NOT support pass-thru, so you MUST configure/initialize a RAID array (Virtual Drive) in the CTRL-R utility before Windows can see any storage, even with the proper driver support.
  • What is the firmware version of your H700 and the server BIOS version? It may need a minimum version for the driver included.
