Dell Broadcom driver (DXXX6) has been removed

Hello,

We have a server having a Dell Broadcom network card.

We use Dell's catalog to update our firmware through the Dell OpenManage.

However, in the latest catalog the driver has been removed.

The newest driver was version "21.65.33.33" with the ID: DXXX6. This driver has been released on 31 Aug 2020. The Dell page  says this driver is not available anymore. However, using google cached webpage you can see the driver:  https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:peRrs78bvtwJ:https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-vg/drivers/driversdetails%3Fdriverid%3Ddxxx6

Now the catalog is saying the newest driver is "20.08.04.04" which is from 2018. Link to driver: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=xnv1f

How can I find why was the driver removed? There is nothing on Dell's support page I can find and we have many servers running this version. I need to know if we need to downgrade or not.

Nikog,

The update looked to be removed because, under very specific situations, it would cause an issue with the ports. Since you are already at 21.65.33.33 to keep anything from occurring, you can perform the CPLD update in a separate staged update which does not include any other updates besides CPLD. That should remove the risk of anything occurring on that update.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for the update and information.

Is this information publicly available anywhere?

Thanks

Unfortunately I don't see anything publicly showing it, I found it from researching internally.

Sorry about that.
