Where to download firmware 21.3.4 for H710P?

Hi,

I've had a couple of R720 in my homelab, all with Perc H710 and the current firmware three years ago was 21.3.4. I've changed these to R730 meanwhile, but what remains is my R320 (also with H710, 21.3.4) running my pfSense, ntopng and UniFi stuff on Proxmox.

I went to H730P with double cache for my R730 - that makes such a difference. Now I found a used H710P for small money as an upgrade from the H710 in my R320. I swapped it today, but that one is on an old firmware 21.2.0.

I did not manage to find the rock solid 21.3.4 firmware anywhere. I found a file "SAS-RAID_Firmware_5XRD7_WN64_21.3.4-001_A08.EXE" but iDrac refuses to update it and also the included .rom file was refused by megacli for an update.

Strangely all Dell sources do not list the 21.3.4 anymore, even not for the R720 (which updated fine via Lifecycle controller two years ago - unfortunately the lifecycle controller does not work anymore with https method and "downloads.dell.com").

Can someone kindly point me to the correct 21.3.4 firmware for the H710P, so I can update my "new" H710P also to that version?

I appreciate your help.

VBR,

Marco

I was able to solve it. I've downloaded the complete catalog a few years ago and fortunately I've saved it on my server. There were a couple of "SAS-RAID_Firmware" files for 21.3.4, all with different "5 letters" in the middle. I've tried all one by one - the 6MFCV worked on my iDrac and updated my H710P to 21.3.4.

I'm still wondering why the Dell support site is suddenly years behind it was two years ago - looks like they rolled back all the 12G information to an old backup. Strange ...

The firmware could be correct, but if that controller was never intended to be used in that server iDRAC will refuse to upgrade.

And, yes, using old platform specific ISO is a good way to update the firmware that is no longer available for download on support site.

(if you still have one)

@DELL-Young E Why the <Profanity is never allowed. DELL-Admin> are you removing downloads? I know that the download experience has just gone down the toilet presumably because the website designers need to be kept in a job, but actively removing support downloads is crazy. That explains why last Friday I had to give up and use a download I had saved for an R420 for a colleague on an R620 that was being put back into service for the Perc H710.

<None of the DELL-Liaisons have the ability to remove downloads. That is done by the platform team. DELL-Admin>
