Secure Erase locked disk
Hi.
Is it possible to 'reset' a secured disk without the passphrase? No option seems to work on a H730 PERC controller.
The disc is recognized as RAID Status foreign and SecurityState Locked.
Retire system with cryptographic erase disc via Lifecycle Controller fails.
RAID configuration with Lifecycle Controller fails (error STOR0506)
Secure Erase states passphrase is not valid, authentication failed.
There seems to be no other option?
kind regards,
Harry

Harricane1,
Based on the document here, if you look under the Secure Erase and Foreign links, the issue you have is that the foreign can only be imported with the passphrase, and the secure erase will only work on drives NOT configured in a Virtual Disk. So I am not seeing an option, but let me continue researching this.

Well, seems impossible. I finally used an old H200 controller which supports true HBA mode. So I could reset the drive using the original Seagate Tool.
