RAID question for R750 24 Bay SFF (16x SAS and 8x NVMe) 2U server
Hello,
I'm looking to configure 2x NVMe SSD's in RAID 1 with the PERC H755N RAID Controller, while configuring 8-10 SAS SSD's in RAID 10 (or RAID 6). What RAID controller and cables do I need to accomplish this? Is an external RAID Controller required? Look forward to your thoughts and thank you in advance. : )
BTW, if its needed, configuration includes: 2x Intel Xeon Gold 6326 CPU's, 512GB RAM, 1x H755N RAID Controller, 2x 960GB NVMe SSD's, 4x 3.84TB SAS SSD's, 1x Dell BOSS card with 2x 240GB M.2's, and 1x Quad port 10G SFP28 OCP3.0 card.

S3rverSavvs,
It would be hard to determine without first knowing the existing configuration. Would you confirm the existing configuration of the server, which can be found on pages 70-92 here.
As far as an external controller, that wouldn't be supported to do.

I have in mind that a PERC only supports one type of Drives at a time... which means NVMe or Non-NVMe but not both.
Are the 8 NVMe Slots than "Direct" ones?
