PowerEdge T160 with SATA BOSS card

Hello,

I decided to upgrade PE T160 with SATA BOSS card I have on hand, it is PN#403-BCHE which is 2x SATA 2280 SSD.

I know that this server requeres BOSS N1 card which holds 2x NVME drives.

ANyway, SATA BOSS is visible and configurable in BIOS screen, a RAID 1 is configured without problems but the servers force the internal FAN to full speed and an amber ligh is flashing, log says "FAN has lower RPM ...."

If the BOSS card is removed everything is fine. Do you know if this can be resolved or the only ways is installing the BOSS N-1 controller?

Hello,

With a BOSS card installed you will need high performance fan:

NOTE: If a BOSS or a PCIe card is installed or a 2.5 inch drive is installed in the 2.5 inch drive bay, an HPR PCI fan is

needed for all the configurations.

This should be the fan kit number. Please verify with sales when you contact them:
