Hi, I have a problem with update of SAS Drive firmware in particular with this: SAS-Drive_Firmware_X4FMC_WN64_FU45_A00.EXE

When I try to install the update on my poweredge r610 with Windows Server 2012 r2 the installation program return this error:

This Update Package is not compatible with your system.

The System configurations are:

  • Windows Server 2012 r2
  • Bios 6.6.0
  • Perc 6/i Integrated 6.3.3
  • iDRAC 2.92
  • Dell LCC 1.7.5.4
  • OS Driver 15.04.00

I don't understand why the SAS Driver fail installation, can you help me.

Hello,

Thank you for the image.

This drive, per the part number (P/N), is for a EMC Storage system and not Server.

EMC P/N: 118033088

You cannot flash it with Server firmware.

This link can show the Storage systems it works with:

You may like to check one of these.

These are Service part numbers and don’t come up on the website.

You would need to contact Sales and ask for the Spare Part Department to get availability, quote and purchase:

Hello,

Could you take picture of the drive label and attach to the thread ?

Try a flea power drain and then try update again run as Administrator

drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables and Network cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed). After flea power drain, system has to set for 3 minutes for DRAC to reset without any power plugged in, then plug in NIC and power but wait 2 minutes before power on to give DRAC time to initialize.

Power up

Retry firmware update

You may also try using the 32bit file.

SAS-Drive_Firmware_X4FMC_WN32_FU45_A00.EXE

Dell Update Packages (DUP) in Microsoft Windows 32bit format have been designed to run on Microsoft Windows 64bit Operating Systems.
