Hello,

2025-09-05 01:41:04 8290 PDR50 Insufficient space on the global hot spare Disk 5 in Backplane 1 of Integrated RAID Controller 1.

We suspect even you are using the same p/n disk physical but the size is slightly smaller than original drives.

Original drives Manufacture  2016-02-24

Replacement Manufacture  2015-07-29

Maybe Seagate changed disk sector count?

To test this theory we would like to ask you to source the drive of bigger size > 1.2 TB (1.8 or 2 Tb).

Respectfully,

Hello, thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community!

I wonder if you possibly already had another hot spare that took over- We would need to check TTY logs or TSR.

Is VD status still degraded?

You can share TTY

using USB stick - https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000134783/how-to-export-the-perc-controller-debug-log-via-the-bios-raid-controller

or from TSR https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-au/000126308/export-a-supportassist-collection-via-idrac9

You can raise an official ticket for the support to have a look. Contact Technical Support | Dell US
