Need Assistance: RAID 5 HDD Replacement on Dell PowerEdge T430
Hello Team,
I have a Dell PowerEdge T430 server configured with RAID 5, using 4 HDDs of 1TB each (7.2k RPM, SAS 12Gbps). Unfortunately, one of the drives has failed, and I am considering replacing it with a Dell-certified 2TB HDD (7.2k RPM, SAS 12Gbps).
The only difference is the capacity of the replacement drive (2TB vs. the original 1TB). Would this setup still work? Will the RAID controller handle the capacity mismatch, and is there anything specific I should watch out for during the replacement process?
Your insights and guidance are much appreciated!
Thank you!

Yes, the PERC can handle the difference about the mixed capacity. It will only use 1TB of the drive and thats it. You need to be sure that all the other properties like NLSAS will matched.
