MD1420 connected to an R640 warns about something... unknown:)

Hi!

So i have this MD1420 enclosure that has worked fine for 7+ years, but it has run out of service now. However i still want to use it a bit for something else, so i moved the H830 raid controller from the server it was connected to (an R630), and connected it to another R640.

It seems to work fine, but the DRAC complains about something.

The enclosure was in Degraded state, until i finally connected the second power cord:) And now it says state=Ready, but still "status" is Warning...

Yesterday i upgraded the DRAC firmware, and also connected a second SAS cable (redundancy path restored...), but stupidly enough i did this kinda at the same time:)

It became OK for a while, but went back to Warning after a while...

All disks are "green", everything seems to work, but why the Warning? How can i get more info about that?

Some racadm output below...

Alexander-36725,

The underlying issue you are seeing is due to the R640 not supporting the H830. The H830 was supported on the 13th generation servers, whereas the H840 (part # 645NJ) would be the controller needed for the R640.

Let me know if this helps.

As seen here, the H840 is indeed supported by the MD1420.

Shuld the MD1420 work fine with a H840 though?
