iDRAC 9 Enterprise not picking up H745 RAID Controller
Hey guys,
I have a Dell PowerEdge R7525 that I'm having some issues with. Put simply, the iDRAC cannot see the H745 RAID controller or associated disks. Despite this, I can access the PERC without any issues via the BIOS menus, and I can easily configure virtual disks. There have been no issues with this so far, but I recent installed an additional H840 and it *is* showing in the iDRAC, which makes the H745 being missing all the more confusing...
I've had this problem for a while and these are the things I've tried to do to get it working...
1: I've fully updated firmware on both the iDRAC 9 and the PERC H745.
2: I've fully reset the iDRAC 9 several times, even unplugging the server and draining capacitors to ensure it fully reset.
3: I've tried reseating the cable and moving the connector to another SL port on the motherboard.
If it helps, the H745 is controlling my backplane on the front of the server whereas the H840 that is showing is controlling two PowerVaults.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been racking (ha) my brain over this for a while now.

Could you tell me both H745 and H840 part numbers?
Tell me more about your CPU/Processor model.
Let me understand the situation, by default H745 is detected/showing in iDRAC before H840 is installed. If you install H840, iDRAC only shows H840 but not H745? Which slot is H745 and H840 installed on which riser?

Hi Urzu1000,
I have same issue on R7525.
1. Downgrade your BIOS firmware to old version when you can't boot from H745.
2. Downgrade your H745 firrmware to old version. after that, you can see your controller on iDRAC. (don't use A16 & A17 version)
