Help with setting up RAID with H200 on Dell PowerEdge T110II

Hey there, I recently bought a Dell T110 II and tried to get it working as a home server. I successfully booted TrueNAS Core onto a HDD with a remotely accessible IP system. The server came with a PERC H200 adapter connected to the PCIe_G2_X4 slot, connected to HDD's 0 - 3 through the SAS port on the H200. However, when viewed from the TrueNAS Core website, only the boot HDD is visible. The same result occurs when using the 'Ctrl R' option to open virtual disk management. Many sources have instructed to use the 'Ctrl C' option to access the SAS configuration utility, but for some reason, that specific keystroke does not work on my server. I have also attempted to update the BIOS from version 2.7.0 to 2.10.0 but am still trying to figure out how to get it going. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I can't help with TrueNAS officially. But I can give you some general information and I believe our community will help you about that. firstly trueNAS prefer direct access to drives and use HBAs not PERC. PERC has a RAID firmware. HBAs have non-RAID firmware. The configurations need to configure it in JBOD mode or flash to IT mode to allow. Therefore I think trueNAS mange to drives directly. You need to make some adjustments to your hardware.

Hope this helps!

@DELL-Erman O

Hello, thanks for replying,
Unfortunately I do not have access to a HBA drive yet, a link for a HBA drive compatible with this server would be appreciated. Is there still any way I could configure the HDD's using the system BIOS through a PERC H200? Also keep in mind that my 'Ctrl C' keystroke seems to be faulty. Let me know when you read this and once again thanks for replying.

Hello, I would say if the CTRL+R for entering does not work, you might need to look at replacing the actual hardware (H200).
