Feasibility of Attaching M.2 SSDs to Poweredge R330
Hello,
I'm thinking about purchasing an R330 server for some basic data storage needs, and for memory I was thinking about using two M.2 SSDs in the like 250-500 GB range. However I'm having a hard time determining if M.2 SSDs would be compatible with an R330 and if I would need a riser card to make it possible. Any advice is appreciated thanks.

Hello, for example,
part #00DJ5 is 480 G
so is #06VJ7 (both in 2.5 inch)
Let us know if this helps.

Hello Astroblast, thanks for choosing Dell.
As you can see from the link above, I don't see NVME support here, I'm afraid.
Let us know if you have any further questions. It is always best that you send us your service tag by DM Direct Messaging | DELL Technologies for better support.

Hi thank you for the response. If I were to use a SATA M.2 SSD that should work right? If I did that do you know if there are slots on the motherboard to install that? If not what kind of riser would I need to be able to install those.
Thanks

Hello,
From the specification sheet Young provided I believe she was letting you see that we do not have any M.2 drives validated for the R330.
I wouldn't be able to provide you adapter or riser to use one because we do not have any in the parts database for the R330 to use M.2 drives.
Maybe someone in the community that has tried it can share their experience.
We do have quite a few SATA SSD drives available. Sales would be able to take your specification and provide you a quote for purchase.

Oh that makes sense. Thank you.
In that case what SATA SSDs would you recommend? I don't need a ton of storage so I was looking for something in the 250 GB - 500 GB range and I'm planning on setting it up in a RAID 1 configuration.
Thanks
